What people say about grit + tonic
“I just moved here and am relatively new to Pilates, I signed up for a 3 class pass to check it out! Amazing workout! The studio is quaint and cozy, everyone in the class was nice and welcoming, and the instructor was great! Will definitely be buying more classes when I use the ones I have!”
— Hannah“I am so excited to have this studio on the peninsula!! The small class sizes make it so the instructors are able to closely monitor your form and even tailor the class to your individual needs. I definitely would recommend this class to anyone with or without pilates experience who is looking for a good/fun/challenging workout!”
— Athena“This is exactly what Monterey needed! Grit + Tonic is the perfect reformer studio. The studio is clean, the vibes are great, and the classes are challenging! Arianne is an amazing instructor, and her abs & assets class kicked my butt! Thank you, Grit + Tonic team!”

Yes, we suggest arriving 5-10 minutes early to check in to get settled onto your reformer. If you are new to the studio - arrive at minimum 10 minutes before class begins.
If a class is in session when you arrive, please wait outside until it is finished to minimize disruptions.
If you are running late, please call/text us so that we can hold your reformer for you. Your reformer may otherwise be given to a waitlisted student. Class entry closes 5 minutes after class begins.

Please call or text the studio if you are running late.
If we don’t hear from you, we assume you’re not coming and your reformer may be given to a waitlisted student. -
We recommend comfortable, fitted workout clothing that allows for unrestricted movement and stays in place throughout class. You’ll be moving through a variety of positions on the reformer, so attire that provides coverage is best. Grip socks are required and, if needed, can be purchased in the studio.

Group reformer classes require at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel; private sessions require 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made within these windows are considered late cancellations and will result in the loss of the class credit or private session fee. Cancellations made before the cutoff will have the credit returned to the account.
No-shows will be charged a $20 no-show fee, in addition to losing the class, on the second offense.
If you are unable to attend, please late cancel rather than not showing up—our waitlisted clients truly appreciate it. You can cancel through Momence.
-
A class credit is required to join the waitlist. If your spot is never confirmed, that credit will be returned to your account.
When a spot opens, the first person on the waitlist will be notified by text, or by email if no phone number is on file. You have 4 hours to confirm. If you do not respond, the next person will be notified.
If a spot becomes available after the waitlist closes, a text will be sent to all waitlisted clients at the same time. The first person to confirm gets the spot.
Once confirmed, your spot follows the same late-cancel and no-show policies as any regular booking. You may remove yourself from the waitlist at any time before receiving a confirmation without penalty.
